The mapped mesh method is available in order to create a regularly configured mesh.
For example, the mesh can be regularly configured by defining the same number of elements for the cylinder circumference, height, and opposite side of the quadrilateral. Generally, the user must define the mesh size in order to create a mapped mesh, but TSV-PRE provides a function that automatically searches for the 4 sides and creates a mapped mesh.

(1) Mapped mesh on the surface of a quadrilateral geometry

(2) Mapped mesh on the cylinder face of a bolt
Local Mesh
Areas of stress concentration are generally represented by defining a smaller mesh size. In TSV-PRE, the user can specify a level of mesh size for each CAD feature in order to represent a stress concentration model (local mesh). A mapped mesh or free mesh can both be defined for specified areas.

High stress area (smaller mesh size defined for the fillets)
